Frankly, my frame on my project was more rusted where this foam collar rested, as it traps water. Later C3 Corvettes did not use these foam pieces anywhere. I think they do more harm than good, and I won't be installing them on my 69. The only foam collar that I will use is the collar over the bell housing.

I have those on my '71. I'm close to putting the body back on the frame.
What was the purpose of them?
If they aren't needed, ill forgo using them.
