My passenger side door handle is sprung up a bit and hits the wall of the outer inside when you push it in. I see this as a common problem with these handles. What’s the fix?

if it is a repo, like the one i had....its junk. My new ones worked out of the car and shortly after but then started hitting th wall as you describe. Best i could tell tightening of the two nuts that hold it led to deformation of the cheap metal used to frorm it.
My solution was to put my origionals back in....
Your best bet would be to remove the door handle having the problem so that you can determine EXACTLY the root cause for its specific problem. You may be able to repair or modify your parts to get it to work properly. IMO, this would be preferable to replacing a [quality made] stock part with some reproduction part that is likely inferior in materials and construction.
You will need to remove the part in any event. During the removal process, you may be able to repair the problem. If not replace it.
So I removed the part as part of a door lock re-key project I’m in the middle of. I’ve seen videos where the issue is due to egged holes in the hinge. That video showed the pin to be more of a tube and repair was made by shimming the holes.
My 68 pin is a solid rod about the size of pencil lead. The holes were not egged out. It seems the top handle is bent by some bubba prying on it. I’ve tried bending it back and resolved the hitting issue, but the top still doesn’t lay flat and looks like crap.
Numbers on the unit support it to be original that I would like to stay with....i might be facing a losing battle.
Any suggestions on who supplies the best repo unit?
