Don’t give up now. You know changing the TOBrg is straightforward. Walk away, take a deep breath, and dive back in. We’re all pulling for you.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I have pulled the trans four times in the last 6 months. What I am struggling with is how two new TOB's fail on the first drive. Something isn't quite right...maybe the clutch fork springs are jacked up and I didn't notice. Going to borescope this week and see if there is an issue before taking all that stuff off to pull the trans...again. Other than that, it really does drive well.

Did you check the concentricity of the bellhousing at any point in the process?

My 327 started vibing at higher revs after I changed the fan clutch. Might want to pull the fan and see if that fixes.

Nope. Bell housing is original to the car, but I suppose it could deform over time requiring offset dowels. That written, clutch engagement and disengagement is excellent as is shift quality. But, if I pull the trans again, I’ll perform that check.

All of the front engine rotating parts were eliminated as culprits.
