I would like to slow down the water flow that is entering into the passenger compartment of my 76. The leaking is across the top of the windshield where the tops seal. The seals seem to be in great shape and I'm thinking the tops are out of proper adjustment. I recall seeing an adjustment procedure some time ago but my search is fruitless. Can anyone provide me with the correct procedure for adjusting the tops? Thanks!
believe it or not, the factory service manual spells it out pretty completely. start by removing your headliners. then you can see if you have any gaps. I know I did.
remove headliners, loosen up the center tabs. loosen up the forward outside pin. loosen up the rear outboard triangle. get the top in the correct position. smallest center gap you can get. and if memory serves me correctly, about 3/16ths gap at rear. then tighten the forward pin and rear triangle. then shim center tabs. then adjust clamps. with tops off in a dark garage keep checking for gaps.
once again. complete instructions are in the Factory service manual.
