Default Heat shielding under carriage

Hope everyone is well. Thought I would share some work I have done on my 71'. I have been restoring this car for this past year - pandemic equals time - and found a very good insulator for undercarriage and in the engine compartment. The company is in Australia and their products are top notch, They didn't charge me tax and since its priced in Australian Dollars its an immediate 30% discount - shipping was about the same but it took a three weeks to get to me in Austin TX. Took adavantage of the engine being out to do the firewall as well and tied it all in. Just a note I have already done the interior in Dynamat - I did this part after and it has made all the difference. The company:

That looks great! Between that and the sidepipes, you should have very little heat in the cabin. Is that their peel-and-stick insulation?

Also, I believe the correct term is "Australian Dollarydoos".

well said on the monetary quote. its self sticking - I used copious amounts degreaser and elbow work to get the fiberglass cleaned. Then it laid on. They have two types of thickness. I chose the thinner one because it is a bit more workable. Loved that it wont separate and i just closed off the sides with aluminum tape.
Here is quick snippet of the guy in Aus.

EXCELLENT Idea!
I love the science behind this stuff. Here's the "money shot"

As a chemistry teacher the Thermodynamics are very sound. Aluminum foil is a very effective reflector of radiant heat, which is the kind we would get from the exhaust.

It works so well that in Boy Scouts we just cooked 12 turkeys outdoors last week in outdoor ovens made entirely out of aluminum foil, and charcoal briquets.
The birds cooked faster than at home, the wives could not believe it, like 2 hours. Last year when it was 20 degrees out they worked just as well. I measured the air temp inside the foil oven, and the air temp was only 60 degrees! It was all radiant heat cooking the birds! And you could touch the foil....

I like the idea that this stuff has an insulating layer behind it. But there is less of a dire need to prevent direct heat conduction to our fiberglass bodies than a steel one. So if all you can find is the plain foil version, I'll bet it would work 90% as well on our cars.

PS: Shiney side out...

PS: I have the Mylar coated foil from Lowes. Reflectix. Mylar has a 320 degree melting point. That should work..... On our turkey ovens the foil never even got warm, unless it was touching the charcoal. But it would be a mess if the mylar plastic melted.....
