Default High Torque starter??

Hey Guys I asked this question a while back. I was looking for a budget High Torque starter for my 350. A DB electrical mini was purchased but I used it on another car. Now I need another, DB is out of stock have been for some time. Any others y’all could recommend? I have a PowerMaster in it now which I know they will rebuild but for the cost of shipping the DB Elec. was a no brainer. I’ve heard a 90’s truck starter will work. Any help appreciated.

the mid 90’s truck starter is a PMG starter and should fit without any issues. Check Rockauto for cheaper pricing. I would recommend getting the proper bolts for it though. As they are a 3/8 thread with a metric knurled section. The old school starter bolts are all 3/8.

I’m trying to cheap out,and get the Powermaster repaired later as I’m not completely sure Starter is issue. What happens is when I go to start it sometimes volt meter pegs and nothing. I cleaned all connections and it worked for a while but it always comes back. Seems like starter is stuck drawing power.

I got a 98 Chevy truck starter C1500 w/ 5.7 eng. at oriellys auto. Get the bolt mount kit too for that starter. Fit my 79 350 perfect. That was 10 yrs ago. Still works great and it’s smaller and lighter.

Mine is from a '96 full size truck. It's been in there for about 20 years.
