today will make it one week and i have absolutely no desire to smoke at all...
i know it seems soon to say this but i feel confident that i have made it...

Stay with it, and you're right, mind over matter, you CAN and WILL do it.
I just quit after 30 plus years, last Sept. 13th. Was 3 days before my scheduled lower back surgery. (Spinal-fusion) I was in the hospital from Monday (day of surgery) to Friday, and with all the post-surgical pain I was dealing with, smoking was NOT something I felt like doing. Now I can walk 3 miles at a time, where before, I had to sit down and rest to relieve back pain in legs after walking only a block. I hope the walking helps me keep the weight off, but man I really don't miss the cigs. and I certainly like the idea of not buring up $30 a week, or more, for a carton of cigs!!!!!!!!!!!!
So stay the course, you can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i wasnt going to post again but when i saw more posts here of course i had to check it out...
well, this evening makes it one week...it was last Tues that was my 1st smoke free day...it was also the day that we dropped the new small block into my corvette...December 3rd...a day worth remembering for me for sure...
this thread has got me thinking...
you know...we all love our C-3's here at this forum and we are so lucky to have this place to congrigate...
and although 90% of our BSing is about the cars that we love so much, it still impresses me that our forum is unique in that we do occationaly stray from the cars and share some things on a more personal level...and amazingly, most of us are actualy interested...
from what i hear, it is not like that on the other forums...i wouldnt know, i have not been there...
so, i thank you all again for your support...it has been a week...i have ZERO desire to smoke...i feel as tho i can say "i have made it!"

Go baby! I quit 20 years ago after 13 years of puffing, then had a heart attack at 41 that would have killed me if I had still smoked. 7 years later my kids still have a dad :cheers:

i did that all in good humor but believe it or not, it really offended some folks here...frankly, i was astonished...
i mean really...it actualy showed less than some beach fotos...i guess it was the idea that bothered folks...

im pretty much a Pink Floyd/Stevie Ray Vaughan guy....
