LOL, here's an idea for ya, What if you had an alternate duct for your intake from the cabin of the car?
Specifically the cabin of a car with A/C?
Or intercepted the A/C cooled air just prior to the cabin. Then you could enjoy a/c cooled car and nice cool intake temps too.
I wouldn't do it too much cutting stuff up and not too attractive, but it would cool intake temps.

Of course just running the a/c takes what 20-30 hp? I don't really know and I suppose it varies depending on the compressor, but you can sure feel it when it cycles on or off.

One thing I would have love to have inside the cabin of my long gone 1977 Camero was a mixture control handle connected to carb

For whatever reason i think it’s more noticeable on a milder lower compression motor...summertime at the track can produce a lazier response and slower e.t than earlier spring or late fall passes. Just hot lapping a car with back to back passes can show slower numbers.

And yes, density altitude/barometer plays a big role in all this.
