Apparently cold weather really wakes up an engine
Specifically the cabin of a car with A/C?
Or intercepted the A/C cooled air just prior to the cabin. Then you could enjoy a/c cooled car and nice cool intake temps too.
I wouldn't do it too much cutting stuff up and not too attractive, but it would cool intake temps.
Of course just running the a/c takes what 20-30 hp? I don't really know and I suppose it varies depending on the compressor, but you can sure feel it when it cycles on or off.
For whatever reason i think it’s more noticeable on a milder lower compression motor...summertime at the track can produce a lazier response and slower e.t than earlier spring or late fall passes. Just hot lapping a car with back to back passes can show slower numbers.
And yes, density altitude/barometer plays a big role in all this.
