I would like to build a bushing tool. Does anyone here have the measurements and specs for a trailing arm bushing tool? If I remember correctly the plans were floating around the forum a couple years ago but my searches have came up empty.
The first link gives some measurements that I could probably get by using for a bushing tool but I really thought there were some plans for one on the site. Guess I was mistaken.
You need to compress the bushing to get the sleeve through enough to flare it without cracking the flare. I don't recall any dimensions of a tool but who knows. The most basic ones are just 2 plates to sandwich the bushing down to 2.00- 2.50" and hammer flare it. I made several over the years, I wore them all out and finally made one out of a die I found in the scrap barrel at work.
