Anyone with a (formerly) manual steering equipped car interested in selling their steering "center/draglink" PLEASE e-mail me I need a spare center link and pittman arm for my vintage racer. redvetracr@msn.com
I had purchased a manual steeting relay rod and pitman arm when I was considering converting my 1980 to manual steering. I have looked at the relay rod and I don't see a part number on it. The pitman arm, it is connected to, shows the part number "3 29451 B". I believe the pitman arm for 63-76 cars w/o power steering is "3829451". I think the part number for the 1969-76 w/o power steering relay rod is "3955512"
The manual steering relay rod itself is about 3/4" diameter. In comparison, the relay rod on the 1980 (power steering) is 7/8" diameter.
I decided to go with Steeroids before I purchased a rebuild kit for the relay rod so I have not disassembled it. (Other than removing the two small bolts that hold the sheet metal cover while looking for the part number.)
Do you know where the part number is located? I can email you some pictures if you are interested but it sounds like, 3/4" vs 7/8" diameter, this one is not the large relay rod you are looking for.
We offer a rebuilt man. center-link which isn't in our catalog or online-yet. Part#12851 which retails at $129.95 and has all new internal parts. You could specify that you want the 7/8" rod and we will get one for you.

Can you tell me what the rebuild entails? I have a manual link that I will be re-installing soon and would like to make sure everything is fresh before I do. Can I get a rebuild kit?
The rebuild kit includes everything you need to rebuild the center-link: the ball-shaft, spring, boot and strap, and all the little parts (cotter-pin etc.). I will sell the rebuild kit by itself for for $89.95. ;)
