Has anyone cut out the clean air duct out of an 82' hood. I have to do this later this week for clearance and was hoping someone had some pointers. Any ideas? I'd hate to cut a hole in my hood on accident!! :cry
I agree, you'd be better off to buy a aftermarket with a high enough rise, and save the OEM hood. That way all the time and effort can be spent getting your paint right rather than trying to mod something that may not work like you want anyway. :smash:
I've measured the hood many times and know that the original will work. I was just hoping someone might have a better way to remove the old inner hood panel then simply cutting it.
That's what I'll do though. I don't think it is worth me buying an aftermarket hood. Doubt I could sell my old hood for the money I would put into a new one.
Hold on to the hood solenoid. They might become rare, if they already aren't.I've got a couple o them too, maybe some day they will be worth something like that rusty braket that showed up here some time ago (can't recall what it was but it was said to be worth a lot of $$$ even in a non working state)
