Default Power door lock cylinder replacement

I have searched and haven't found any info yet that seemed to apply to my situation, so apologies in advance for asking something that I'm sure it right in front of me.

Recently purchased a 1981 Corvette with power locks... and no door keys. So, I ordered two cylinders and keys and figured I'd replace em no problem, then have the glove box and tire locks rekeyed.

Well... I pulled the door panel off, removed the plastic shield inside that I guess is either anti-theft or a rain guard. And there is a lot more than a clip holding the cylinder in place. And a very small aperture to reach inside.

Can anyone guide me to any sort of instructions to remove this? I know better than to just start taking levers and stuff apart... any advice would be appreciated.

others may reply but i will do my best having been there. to replace to door lock cylinders you need a very long needle nose pliers. and a bright light. the first thing you will notice the linkage to the door cylinder is held in place by an E clip, remove this with a long flat blade screw driver, if it falls to the inside of the door panel thats o.k. you can reach in and find it. second there is a long clip holding the door lock in place, thats were the long needle nose comes into play, clamp the needle nose on to the bent part and take a small hammer and tap on the side on your needle nose it will slide right out. just do the reverse when you re install it, but note the long clip you may have to make sure the two flat arms that hold the cylinder in place have to be even with each other or you may not get them back in place, take your time
power door locks are a different game there are instructions on the web on how to do them, but remember they are married togeather

I found that purchasing a telescoping magnet is really helpful when working on the internals of the doors. I dropped things so many times I lost count.

Thanks guys. Local Autozone had a 13" long needle nose plier - with two hinge points, so it stays narrow when you open it, if that makes sense. Think I'll get a telescoping magnet too before I take another swing at this. Appreciate the information.
