Continued efforts to get my 82 ce crossfire operational is seeing gains. I have gone through the fuel system completely now and added the fuel pressure gauge set up from Buccaneer (good stuff BTW). Was having some power and ground issues before getting both injectors to fire properly and found a partially melted connector that I need to replace as it is melted beyond usable. I am wondering if anyone knows if this connector would be exclusive to the 82 Corvette or if other GM cars may be searched to get a replacement? It is a 6 pin plug. Thanks!

Thank you for the fuel pressure gauge compliment, enjoy! Do you need to upper or lower harness? Lectric has those ready to install. Lectric I needed just the lower connector years ago and found the exact connector and color at the Pomona swap meet and cost a dollar, brand new. The lady selling them had a box full marked 66 chevy connector. I should have bought the entire box. These connectors corrode when water runs down them if they get wet and the starter wire has a lot of draw through there on top of it. I sealed mine after replacement and have not had any issues in a dozen years or so since.
I ordered the mouser pieces to repair what is there now. Good tip on sealing that connector. It runs pretty close to the exhaust too. My fuel pressure came up to 12 after throttle body rebuilds. With adjuster plug removed I need to tighten that spring a bit more to get 13 psi.

Great! 13 psi is the magic number really and you shouldn't have any issues unless your pump is weak, the FPR spring is weak or both. After you set it at 13, wick the throttle to say 3k or so and see if the needle goes down at all. That may indicate that at WOT top end that you will have less FP and go lean. If it does, I would replace the pump with the TPI pump, 85-87 corvette pump and then just leave the FP alone at 13. Good luck and enjoy your vette.
