1980 tach issues

1980 tach issues

Ok so I have an 80 project car and am having issues with the tach. Changed the board on the back of the tach and still the tach is not working. Seems to be sending power but when you start the car the tach will go up but wont come back down. Also wont register anything at idle?? Thoughts??

Thanx for the link, yes I saw this and tested it and all check out except tach wont work! Really scratching my head now...

I had an issue on a 78 tach that was intermittent. It turned out the clips that the tack board studs slip into were loose and not making good contact. I "adjusted" them for more tension, problem solved.
