Default Battery Tender

Where can you connect a battery tender up under the hood instead of at the battery compartment. Looking to run a wired hidden connection to the front grille/bumper area. Thanks

You could connect the positive terminal to the large positive terminal at the starter solenoid and the negative to any good chassis ground.

I connect mine in the battery compartment and run the 120V cord out through the bottom of the door. How does one run a hidden connection? You need to plug the visible 120V cord into the wall outlet.

On mine I just disconnect the provided DC plug and leave the Tender and AC part plugged into the receptacle on the wall.

The alternator would work just as well. The battery is connected directly to the starter and the starter is connected directly to the alternator. There are probably a bunch of other places you could connect it if you were to consult a wiring diagram and see what else is connected directly to the battery. I suppose it you just checked for any terminal that has power when the key is turned off it would work just as well.

I use a battery disconnect during extended down times just to reduce the risk of electrical fire. I'd connect the tender directly to the battery and just live with the inconvenience -- just something to think about.
