Ignition Key will not come out - I can not turn in to final off position. All other key positions work fine.
1971 SB 4 speed car keeps fighting me! After swapping chassis, I am having trouble getting the ignition key out. It rotates to the start potion just fine, but gets stuck just before the "off" position preventing the key from coming out. I Never had this problem prior to the frame swap.
I tired all the basic tricks, rotating steering, tilt, brake, clutch.
what could be wrong?
never mind, figured it out. turns out this car is equipped with ignition lockout that is not connected but was actuated. I moved the lever up on the fire wall and all is good now. key is out!
Hey brother,
Is your lock out cable missing or just disconnected?
If it's missing and you'd like to replace it, I have a nice clean original one, with trans bracket, that you can have. It's just collecting dust here.
Lemme know.
Cheers, Greg
