Like the idea of using the 'mechanical' lever on the passenger side of the transmission tunnel - gives it a sense of purpose - especially considering all that work the OP has put in to the conversion. Hope when he first tries the car out he's happy with the reduction in rpm. Nice work Bandit 54 - love to have done this myself but Hone od's are non-existent in UK
The force required to shift is around 20 pounds, with lever and linkage you could set it up requiring very little effort. The throw to shift is around 1 inch.
Most of the work installing the hone o drive is reworking the tunnel and fabricating the support. The lever and linkage would be somewhat easy to fabricate and install but I’m not wild about the lever.
Thats basically it, I have not drove the car fast enough to get in 4th gear. The car is going through the process to be a FIA lookalike. The interior is not there I have a switch box setup so that I can drive the car. I have shifted it both in an out of overdrive in first and second gear. It shift great you don’t notice the speed changing but you can see the rpm change. It’s like upshifting and downshifting without changing gears.
Quick update on drive shaft angle. I used a string and lined it up on the frame centerline front to back. Offset at the transmission output shaft to hone-o-drive u-joint was 3/4 inch. The output shaft of the hone-o-drive at the u-jointis 1/4 inch. Best guess is the angles between the transmission, hone-o-drive, and rearend is 1.6 and 1.2 degrees. I feel good about the angle of the driveline now, I should have done this when I was doing the installation.
Trying to find out where the shifter used in the BM corvette using the hone o drive came from. I been searching everywhere on the internet but no luck of anything close. Any ideas or leads would be appreciated.
thanks
The lever for the hone o drive is what I’m trying to find, parts from hone o drive is non existing. I trying to find something close to what was used without making one my self. I have looked through marine applications but nothing that looks close. I currently have the shift set up with a liner actuator it works OK but I would be more comfortable with something I can feel shift.
I once owned a 59 ****** Jeep Pickup that had a Warn overdrive in it that was similar (could be actuated in all gears). Really freaked people out when I would shift into overdrive... in reverse
That handle assembly looks similar to one that might be found on an older boat, say late 60s early 70s. Have you checked eBay. A quick search on Morse controls (they were the dominant brand) and I found this. Not exact, but getting closer....
Thanks, I have searched boat controllers but not under Morse. I have I located one but not real happy with condition. I will start a new search the Morse is close to what I’m looking for.

I just found these guys yesterday. They dont list the gear ratio for the overrdirve so you have to call. I've heard of companies swapping out third gear for an overdrive gear and making the tranny into a 3 speed plus overdrive...couldnt really find any info on it but I like the idea. I would have built one myself, you wouuld just have to flip the gear lever over so 4rth would be 3rd in the shift pattern.
Cv67, the hone o drive I like because I keep my Muncie. The gear through the OD actually changes a 4:11 rear end to around a 2:88. Output I’m not sure they were used in some of the Motion Corvettes.
Rescue Rogers, I checked out the listing you posted. Interesting but not really a overdrive system what they have done is changed the gearing for the first three gears the forth gear is still 1.0 to 1.0.

Perhaps I'm misreading that - but it seems like you still keep you 1:1 4th gear ratio and simply change all the lower ratio's - isn't that what an M20 effectively does?
