Wrote the check. Got over the sticker shock. Came back to work and they delivered my new 383+ full of oil and the oil pump primed. :cheers:
So far all I've been able to do is get the '76 in a spot and lift the hood. Darn it's hard to get your own car worked on during a busy day! :mad :mad
I've got a fully assembled 383+ (.040 instead of .030) with a forged steel stroker kit, 10:1 pistons and a Crane cam with 1.6 roller rockers in 1.94 heads (ported/polished with stainless valves). Cloyes double roller chain kit, ARP assembly hardware, and a Moroso 7 quart oil pan. Edlebrock manifold with Edlebrock 795 CFM Performer series Quadrajet. Ceramic Headers.

In paying homage to the CA smog law, I got a set of used 1.94 OEM Chevy heads to have them work on.
What heads are you running?
They have not only been ported and polished with the SS valves and hardened seats, but also port matched to the new Performer Manifold.

Ah yes, my dad has a set of double humpers lying around (1.94 valve)... I might use those for my engine, but I want to use more new parts, and aluminum ones :D
