Hey guys, I'm working on a 75 C3, L82. I found the O2 sensor on the driverside exhaust manifold, but the wire is cut. Does anyone have a picture of where the plug should be?
The car has been running fine with it cut, and starts right up.
Kinda sorta looks suspiciously like an O2 sensor though....Usually it's further down the trail than that on the exhaust, and certainly was not something that was stock in '75.
No mods as of yet. Goal is just to get everything working as it should. I've already done plugs, wires, oil, and am looking into vacuum leaks soon ( which there are quite a few).
if the manifold was born with that motor, a non center bolt valve cover motor, the latest car it can be out of is a 1986. Could be a tpi or crossfire motor from a camaro, but pure speculation..

Well on the positive side, at least your further ahead should you choose to put an A/F meter gauge in the vehicle for carb tuning and monitoring... I have to have a bung welded into my sidepipes to install the meter I got for christmas.. could be a roller cam engine as well which would be another plus.

Unless someone swapped in a retro fit hydraulic roller, or put a set of 86 and older heads on a later block, I’m going to say unlikely that this has a roller cam.

I was going on the sense that we didnt know what heads were on the engine. The old darts on mine have bolt holes for either valve cover design. Your right though, they are likely GM stock heads.

we really know nothing right now... it could be a 305. It could be a 400. The heads could be fancy aftermarket heads. Anything really is speculation.
For the owners sake I hope it’s at least a stock 350
