I rebuilt my complete suspension. Rebuilt shafts and everything else. Pumpkin is untouched. Question is how much power until you strain it? Will 400 hp beat it up?

shock loading breaks parts, so you can implode a vette diff with 300hp and a lot of abuse or they can last in stock form with no real abuse with more HP. They all had issues depending on the year. 308's more than likely came with low power automatic cars, although BB's got them too. An untouched C2 would have better axles and clutches, a mid 70's c3 would have a better posi and spiders but soft axles and weaker clutches along with RG bolt issues. If it was ever worked on than all bets are off, if you have seen some of the "rebuilt" diffs I had to repair over the years you would know what I mean.
