So I have recently recovered my vet from the shop where I had the window motors and regulators replaced on both sides. When they gave me the car back they told me the drivers side was performing very weakly. Now its not performing at all and is stuck in the down position I ordered the motors from ecklers
but had research replacement motors and was told all retailers get the motors from the same source. My question is twofold.
First how can I adjust the window to get the window up even if the motor is shot. I have loosened all the screws that I think are adjustable but it still won't go up.
Secondly Has anyone heard of a source of these motors that are better than what I'm finding?

Your motors might be good.
Remove the two-terminal plug and with a good ground to the motor case apply 12 volts to each terminal one at a time and see if the window works.

If yes then check the removed plug for 12 volts.
Then check the switches.
The other window works ok?
yep. This^^^^^^^^^^
I used a 12v battery and jumper cables. Ground to the door itself. One of the two wires is "up" the other wire is "down". Put the jumper cables on the floor and touch the wire to the cable end. It'll either go up, or down, just make sure the ground is good and stop the motor when you get to the end of the travel.
If you get the motors out.......do yourself a favor and disassemble the gearbox....clean the grease out and reassemble with a synthetic grease. Sometimes the motors are so old that the grease inside hardens.....and the undepowered motors uses what little power it has turning the gear and not raising the window. Another common issue is a wore out regulator window lift assist spring.......this is important to have the window raise quickly.
Also clean and grease the slides front and back......
I have had good luck with A1 Cardone window motors but haven't played with them in a long while........
