Black-Out crome
I am repainting my 69 Monaco Orange bb corvette and thinking about having all wheels and chrome powered with black chrome, I know all those purists won't like this but It'll be my cruiser till I die and don't care about value. Any thoughts, also don't want it to look like a pumpkin!!!

I'm 180 from a purist, but personally I'm not a fan of the current trend of blacked out bumpers, IMO it reminds me of the 90's pro street trend of painting bumpers. I do like black wheels but I think it needs to have some brushed or polished aluminum to breakup the black wheel and black tire like Augie's car above.

No better way to murder the character of a Chrome Bumper car than to black all the bright work out.......
I saw a 69' 427 car done up with everything black...including the wheels and it was terrible.....made a 40k car look like $5.....
I don't like black wheels period, either......a trend that needs to die. And 90% of people who own black wheel cars never clean them so they look grey and trashy.
BUT.....to each their own.....
