Default 69 headlight door removal question

So I have my freshly restored 69 running and driving well. In getting my headlights working with Richard 454’s terrific electric conversion working, I noticed my driver side door frame has some casting flash that is hitting the body opening when it opens. I was wondering if I can remove the door while leaving the rest of the assembly on the car. If I remove the 3 screws on each side to remove the nylon bearings, and remove the linkage, will it pull to one side far enough to come out? I really only need to be able to lift it enough to be able to get a dremel on it to get rid of the flash. My pivot collar allen heads, of course, are pointed to the rear, so not sure I can get a wrench on them to loosen. I really don’t want to have to remove the assembly on a freshly painted car. Thanks for the help.

Bill

First if you raise the headlamps you can get to the Allen screws and then you can disconnect the pivot bolt. . When I put mine in I went through the front without the grill attached. I am not sure if you can pivot them out through the top.

Thanks for the help. Doesn’t seem it is possible by the lack of responses. I guess I am just going to have to get in there and see f I can loosen it enough to raise it and get the dremel behind it. Always something.😞😞

Hi just a note of caution I was taking mine out of a 69 and as i tried to loosen the the bolts that hold it on the front by the bumper i broke the cast aluminum housing. Before loosening the other side i drilled a 1/8 whole through the steel bracket and light housing then put the drill bit in then got the bolt loose. It keeps the casting from twisting and breaking.
