Man, I don't think I've worked this fast and with so much enthusiasm in a long time. I'm just about ready to pull the old motor.

Does anyone know how to disconnect the clutch linkage from the block?

I didn't realize it was actually pivoting from the block until I was uner there the other night disconnecting the tranny bolts, shifter linkage, and speedo hookup.
I also got tired of storing the t-tops on the floor so made cool hanger for them. Pics below. I'll start a new thread showing how to make the t-top hangers.

Yuck, nasty radiator...

Ignition - I have a Mallory Unilite tach drive distributor in my Vette with their replacement coil and I love it. Check out: http://www.centuryperformance.com/

These guys took my Mallory dual point (which had bad points and left me stranded when I drove the car home at purchase!) and had Mallory convert it over to the Unilite version. The stock tach cable screws right in and it is super. Enjoy all that new power!

Well, after some deliberation I finally said heck with it, I'm going for it. In about 2 weeks I will be headed to the shipping dock to bring home my 383 stroker 440hp/475tq

Okay tshort I saw this and said $3510!!!!????????. To get those numbers with GM we are talking a 502 and $6500.00. Now thruogh E-Bay are these through a repetiblule dealer i.e. AR Racing???? I am scared to bid on a $25.00 part much less 5K. Thirdly are these engines to be on E-Bay for some time or where else can you find AR Racing? I'm curious how you all purchased these motors. My rebuild was close to $3500 and that is a turn key job I did nothing ,although I was on deployment 0106 to 0201, that's an incredible price!!!

Well, I still haven't received the engine yet so I really can't say anything about the engine first hand. But there are 3 others that have bought from them and are very happy so far. Olivier (GrandSportC3) has his in and has been running it for a few months now so he would really be the best to talk to for first hand knowledge/feedback. But I've talked with him a bit and he is very happy with the engine and quality of work.
You can either buy one of their engines on eBay or just call them up and order one of their "eBay" motors or have them custom build one to your liking. I have emailed and spoke with the owner (Mark) at AR many times over the past 2 months and he is a very nice guy and is usually very quick to reply. Although right now I believe he is out for the holidays.
The eBay engines are a special price to attract business. He said if you just called up and ordered an engine to your specs it would probably cost a little more. And the eBay prices are going to change after 2002. But call them up and if you are serious about buying one they will probably keep the same price just after the new year if you are interested. At least that's what he told me.
Yeah, I'm a little scared of spending money on eBay but these guys have a good reputation so far and are selling more and more engines to us guys on the forum.

Is AR a part of AFR (Air Flow Research) the aluminum head guys? What does AR stand for so I can visit their website.
