79' - window stopped working
Hi,
I've had the car for about a year an both windows were operating when I first purchased the car. I removed the driver door panel (I even forgot why) and the passenger side window has not worked since. I double/tripled check if I left anything loose but it's not the case. How can I troubleshoot? If I have a shop do the work, it may be easier/less expensive if I just replace the possible components that are needed. Hope I made sense.

There is nothing in the driver's door that would affect the passenger window, so it was probably just a coincidence that it failed at that time. If you have a voltmeter or a test light, check for power at the switch in the center console. The pink wire should have power whenever the key is in the 'on' position, the tan wire gets power when the switch is pressed towards the up position, and the light blue wire gets power when the switch is pressed towards the down position. If you don't get power to the tan and light blue wires, then the switch is bad.
Those tan and light blue wires at the switch go directly to the motor in the passenger door, so if everything checks out ok at the switch, you'll have to verify that those two wires are getting power at the motor. If the wires both have power when they are supposed to, then you either have a bad motor or a bad ground. If I remember correctly, there isn't a ground wire in the door, it just grounds thru the metal door internals to the hinges and then to the birdcage. You can verify the ground with a test wire touched to the motor case and then to a known good ground.
