Default 75 headlights do not raise - hissing from switch

Good afternoon all,

I had the dash out as part of one of my LS swap. When I put the speedo/tach back in I may have reversed the vacuum tubes on the headlight switch. Now that I put everything back together when I pull on the headlight switch the lights come on but the headlights not come up and there’s a hissing sound from where the switch is. Do those houses have to be on in a certain location? It seems to me that that would not matter, any idea what I might’ve goofed up?

thanks, Scott

Unfortunately ,Yes they do have to be in the correct location .
How do I know that , because I did the same thing as you !

I remember not opening up the dash again , but swapping the other ends of the hoses around .I had to cut one hose and put an inline joiner in it to make it work .

I was able to rather easily get back to the hoses and swap them yesterday and everything is working correctly now. As part of this project I added the relays in to the headlight circuit to increase the voltage to the lights and the difference is huge, I recommend it.
