Default Fuel inlet fitting torque

Is there a torque or is teflon tape a alternate for fuel leaks?

The torque specs is "Snug".
Make sure the tape says gasoline proof somewhere on the packaging. Not all thread tape is.

I don't think Teflon tape is supposed to be used on that fitting because of the possibility of pieces of the tape getting into the carb. If it leaks you have another issue.

I coated the threads where fuel line attaches to carburetor with Permatex Aviation Form-a-Gasket sealant liquid, 3H item # 80019 and snugged tight.

My leak was fixed with a new Teflon gasket that sits right on the end of that fitting in a groove. Advance auto has them cheap. It’s a q-jet.

Section 6C page 35 of the 77 Service Manual has all the Torque Specifications for the M4MC carburetor if that's what your working on.

Yup. The fuel nut has a gasket. The fuel line to fuel nut is a flare fitting.

Never had one leak with new nylon gasket and proper torque specs.

Must always use two wrenches to tighten or loosen that Q-Jet fuel inlet fitting. Otherwise, you can easily crack/damage the [weak] bowl casting.

and that fuel nut is 1", it's a good idea to have a 1" box wrench handy for that alone.

An adjustable wrench can work in a pinch, but the box wrench is best.

Good luck... GUSTO

I had to use a box wrench, my adjustable wrench was too wide and got in the way of the fuel line wrench on the flare nut.
