Default Replace brake booster? What about a seal?

Hi all,

I was removing my master brake cylinder in order to replace it with a new one and replace all brake lines at the same time only to find out it apparently had been leaking:

Does this mean my power booster is now shot too?

Also my new master cylinder did not come with any seals. Should there be one? It's a 1981 C3. I have seen reports it should not need a seal, or a rubber one or a foam one.

What is required?

In the 68 assembly manual and the parts web sights it shows a gasket and a retainer seal between the booster and MC.

They look like the ones from the 1981 AIM indeed:

Are you sure these are not required? Why were they there in the first place?
