I have a 69 with a 350 and a 3.36 rear end. I also have a 66 with a BB and a 3.08 rear end. My question is , how would the 350 preform if I switched rear ends.
Very little difference between and 308 & 336. If you have an automatic no issue and really not worth doing unless the diff needs work. With an M20 you can run a 308 but a sb has less torque than the bb and you probably wouldn't like as much. If you are thinking of doing it to save gas, again don't waste your time.

Matching numbers = $$$. I would address your needs independent of the two differentials.
What don’t you like about how the 69 runs? I have a 69 that had 3:36s and put in a set of 3:73s. I also put my original M20 on the shelf and put in a TKO-600. Two different cars! Hole shot heaven and cruise all day at 70 with the overdrive 5th gear.

the 350 would love a 3.70 or 4.11s if you are looking for off the line performance. If you are on the highway then maybe a 3.55 rear. I have had the 3.55 behind a M21 and it sucked off the lights under normal throttle and not too bad behind a M20. If you do go to a 5 speed with a low first gear the 3.36 would perform much better
