I am planning on lifting my body off my '81 and as of right now I have no front friberglass on the car but still have the full interior in and I was trying to figure out how much the body weighs. I am trying to figure out how I want to approach the body lift, whether it be a bunch of buddies and beer  or some kind of pully system in my garage ceiling. I would rather use the body lift straps they sell in ecklers and use a pully system in my ceiling but Im afraid it will cave in, (NOT GOOD  ). Anyway let me know what you guys think, thanks in advance for any help.

5 of us were able to walk around with a complete 78 body for a frame up resto. Your complete body is even lighter
That is what I was thinking too but every site I look at I seeabout 8 people and 8 people in my 2 car garage is a can of sardines and there wont be much room to move around.
A set of camper jacks is very precise and easy to use with two people. (Maybe a third as a spotter) I'll try and take some digital pictures of my regular photos tomorrow. With the nose included, I placed the spare tire on the decklid as a quick meand of leveling the car, because it will be front heavy.
I like your method. My idea was basically the same except using a pulley system hung from like 4 different points in the ceiling to help distribute the weight.
i used 3 ton engine lift and 2 crossed 5,000lb ratchet style straps...it took me and my father 10min to get it up and safley on the dolley...i had no prob with ANYTHING...took 5hrs from start to finish to get the body off..... :chevy , i use this technique all the time and works well
