Default REPLACEMENT PASSENGER DOOR PANEL ARRIVES

Well after 7+ weeks the replacement deluxe black carpeted passenger inner door panel came in. I had purchased new leather door panels and the leather up at the end where you would rest your elbow ripped through no fault of mine. Keep in mind the car is garaged and lives in San Diego so no climatic changes. So I called the vendor and he recharged my card and sent me a replacement, both from auto accessories of america. I get a refund when I return the old one in the mail, $367.00. Problem is there has been 8 returns in 6 months and I fear this one will do the same in a few months. Anything I can put on the leather to supple it up to prevent another crack from appearing? I have been using mothers leather dressing on my Vettes for years and it seems to keep a good shine as well as protect the leather.

I thought all door panels were vinyl, regardless of whether you had leather seats or the cloth/leather seats. I can imagine the vinyl splitting, but not leather. Chuck

Chuck your actually right. I read leather on the description however a closer look shows it to be vinyl. Here's the door that just arrived.

And here it is installed however I had to redrill the door handle holes as they refused to line up. so much for exact reproduction specs

Now that my electrical gremlins have been chased down (dead cell in battery) I am all for that - perhaps this upcoming weekend - let me know.
