Default 1981 engine color

What is the correct color? Chevy blue which has a green tint, GM blue, or Corporate blue?

Corporate Blue. This was all an outgrowth of the 'Mark of Excellence' episode....

Until you see the colors next to each other they look pretty much alike.
Assuming 81 is same as 78/79, Chevy Blue is correct. BUT, paint manufactures have gotten lazy.
See this old thread for comparison pic.
One of my 79s I used "wrong" Chevy blue, saw right away as I was painting over correct color.
When I eventually did my other 79(and 2 previous 78s)I held out for correct color.

Thanks! Then add 40 year old paint to the equation. I'll take a shot at GM blue. The only way is to spray and see.

That 6 mile 79 color looks like my "incorrect" color while your 79 after trans looks like my "correct" blue.
What are the details of that 6 mile pic?
That really looks too good. Detailed? No paint on drain plug.
I had a 25 mile 78 Pace Car that looked terrible, thin and rust showing to where I was motivated to detail it even tho original. Didn't hurt when I sold it, buyer appreciated the detail.

no clue, it was a website that is still there..
lighting and pics really change appearance so tough to know..
i will say that when i used the seymour paint..i could NOT tell the difference in the areas i touched up..just cleaner.. funny to see the AC oil filters for contrast..

Not to steal the op's thread about engine color but this is the color of the original oil filter.
