Until you see the colors next to each other they look pretty much alike.
Assuming 81 is same as 78/79, Chevy Blue is correct. BUT, paint manufactures have gotten lazy.
See this old thread for comparison pic.
One of my 79s I used "wrong" Chevy blue, saw right away as I was painting over correct color.
When I eventually did my other 79(and 2 previous 78s)I held out for correct color. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ine-paint.html

nice thread thanks.. i took the liberty of your photo i hope ok.. of course computer screens and color differences.. but..
left to right Old photo i saved 6 mile corvette 79, @kapsSA correct, @KapsSA incorrect, my 79 after transmission install
That 6 mile 79 color looks like my "incorrect" color while your 79 after trans looks like my "correct" blue.
What are the details of that 6 mile pic?
That really looks too good. Detailed? No paint on drain plug.
I had a 25 mile 78 Pace Car that looked terrible, thin and rust showing to where I was motivated to detail it even tho original. Didn't hurt when I sold it, buyer appreciated the detail.
