I have a 1968 C3 with the wiper door that won't close completely. According to the previous owner, one day he used the wipers and the door never closed again. How can I get it to close manually? I lubricated all the arms and disconnected the vacuum actuator and got some movement but, the door will not close. Does anyone have any tips to manually close this?
Before you start tearing into the system check and see if the wipers are interfering with it closing. Mine does but I wiggle it and it drops in. I'll fix that one of these decades....

you should have the coffee can actuator. If you can move the rubber boot you may be able to move the actuator arm between the can and firewall after you remove the vacuum lines. To open it there is a rubber plug on the end of the can, you can remove it and use a wood dowel to push the actuator in and open the door.
I had a can that the rod was bent in and it wouldnt let the door move. You can remove the 2 bolts on the sides of the can that it is mounted with and pull the hole can outward and it will close the door. If you do remove it be careful not to lose the plastic washers that the can pivots on. They should be 2 piece, and inner and an outer washer, one with a shoulder
