Sounds like you're having fun and that's what it all about.
Quick update, so far I've gotten a full length header dual exhaust w/ Flomasters.
Looking at the JEGS 180 Heads w/ dual plane intake and cam combo
Trying to decide between EFI Tech and FAST EFI to replace the quadrajet, along with a billet distributor that works best with the EFI of choice.
That should wake it up!.
what headers and exhaust did you get? Do you have th links to both i want to find a good set
First thing I would do is get rid of all smog control stuff. Followed by installing long tube headers, True straight duals with an H-pipe dumping into some Flowmaster 40s. If you want to spend some more get some Borlas. Then I would call Edelbrock and ask them which top end kit they recommend. I would preferably switch to a retrofit roller cam. I have done all this with my 80, but I did it the long way. Bought everything individually. Don't do that, it is easier with the kit. I have the Comp Cam Xr276hr and I am pretty happy with it. My car is pushing about 370+ Hp; however it is limited to the 3.08 rear gears I have. My car is a four speed so I didn't have to mess with upgrading the torque converter.
I was going to go EFI, but after some research there was as many cons as there were pros. So I opted to buy a 650 Edelbrock Carb. In hindsight I should have probably gone with a 750cfm. But I guess, you live you learn.
