The 200-4r is in and working fine so I thought it was time to stretch it`s legs.Yesterday I saw the Florida lottery was up to $100 million and I could sure use the money to support my Corvette habit.Round trip was 154 miles, most on the interstate. When I first built my engine 14mpg with3.08 gears was normal.Went to 3.73`s and mpg was8-10.Now with the od with average speed of 80,mpg was 17.What I really like is the rpm at 90 is only 2800 :D .That is better mpg than my 02 Xterra se-sc and it has 383ci.Who says you can`t have it both ways!
That's an amazing difference between the 3.73 and the 3.08.
I've been told that the 2004r has pretty much the same gearing for the first three gears (maybe a little lower for 1st) as the TH350. Would you say that the first three gears feel the same?
I went from a th400,I can say for a fact 1st gear is much lower with the200.It will smoke the tires with ease and I wasn`t even trying.Yes the 373`s killed my mpg but now the od makes up for it.
Gotta love the OD. Right now I am running a Tremec 3550 backing my 350. About 370 HP (DD2000) with XE262 cam, RPM heads, true duals, and a Lars-tuned Q-jet.
Drove the car cross country, 3.36 rear, 2000rpm=70 mph, got an honest 20 mpg. :D
Next on the mod list is fuel injection with a goal of 25mpg on the highway.
