Rear Differential-Side Yoke
I’m pretty sure I have to take it all back out and back to the shop. What do you guys think?
If they did not remove the posi, then you could have a badly worn axle.
In any event, the cover needs to come off and determine the state of the clips.
Was the differential rebuilt or just repaired- meaning just seals installed? I see common aftermarket seals in place so the axles were out at some point. Now if a person doesn't know how to install a snap- ring once will they be able to do it a second time?
The end of the axles appears to be worn a little. I would remove the cover, find the snap ring and install on the axle out of the diff and measure from the ring to face to see how much it is worn. If it's past the case hardening it will continue to wear at every corner you take. I would ask your mechanic if he knows what the spec and hardness is, if you don't get a clear answer - sailor take warning.
