i got a killer pic of my car on high res disk this weekend from willow springs. now i want to have it made into a poster but can't find a company that does it. any ideas? the places i've talked to so far only do 8x10 and i'm looking for something more like 18x24 or so.
Most mail order photo places will do 'em.
I have gone to Mystic photo before.
It looks from their web site that the digital printing is limited to 10x15, while
the 35mm negatives can be printed to 20x30.

Re: where to get a poster made? (Daves_rusty_75)
There used to be a guy on the C4 section that used to make nice posters for anyone. He was in Texas. His real name was Kevin. Maybe someone on here can come up with his corvette forum handle. Sorry I don`t remember.
Have the 8X10 print made and see if the quality of the image is acceptable to you before you go for the larger poster sized print.
Any print (or poster) is limited by the initial image size. While you can "blow up" an image to any size, the quality of the image suffers as the magnification increases. For example, a high quality scan of a 35mm slide would yield a digital image size of about 120 mega bytes. This high quality scan itself would have less quality than the original image. Do you know the size of the image on the high res disk?
Who took the original photo? If the original source is on film, and you can print from that film, then the quality of your poster will be improved. Any good darkroom should be able to do this for you. Remember quality costs $$.
If you have problems finding a darkroom, call some of the local wedding photographers and ask what darkrooms/printers they use.
mapman, i don't remember exactly but the properties said it was something like 3000x2000. it's pretty big. i'll try kinkos. i think i'd like to have my poster the same size as the digital image. like i said, it's a pretty high res picture. you can even make out the green wire i had to use after i broke off the metal tab holding my front air dam in place.
Send me a copy of the file (how many MB?), and I can make you one. Do you have a high speed modem? If so, email it along with a return mailing address.
