Default new ecm

Fist time poster, long time reader,. I have just replaced the ecm on my '81 after going through a long episode of replacing almost all of the ignition components trying to solve a constant timing issue. The car now runs better than ever, but the choke and battery lights stay on and the rpms don't register. The buzzer rings constantly when the headlights are on. No engine light, so I can't get codes. (there were no codes before the ecm swap so I assumed it was faulty)

never mind. 20 amp gauges fuse. The new ecm did seem to fix my erratic idle and changing timing problem though! So far...

newton mass. return the ecm. throw the old one, the carb and the distributor into boston harbor and start over with non computer controlled carb and ignition. the 81 setup is trash.

Is your charging system working? You should see 14.2 to 14.7 volts at the battery when running.
