Gutted A/C
Hey guys, I just picked up a 75 and the previous owner gutted the A/C. What do you guys think would be the best way to go about replacing it? Any advice is appreciated. (Also sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, I'm new here)

When you say gutted, is everything missing ? no evaporator, condenser, or compressor ? If it all is missing, then I would probably look at a system like this from Classic Auto Air:

But you have to really want A/C and drive your car a lot in the summer heat to drop $1,500+

gutted is too general a term. post pics of what is left. i am redoing my air on my 75. so far 70 bucks for evap. 40 for drier-reciever. (both 80-82.) blue ford orifice 10 bucks. parallel condenser 95 bucks. not universal. says for 80-82 vette. and i offered 80 and he took it. i will update the fit when it gets here. they say the ear style sanden or clone fits the a6 mount. with a little bubba-style hole adjustment. compressor is 80 to 250. the 80 version needs a 25 buck cyl head to fit the gm pad mount hoses. do not bother with junkyard. you need a v-belt clutch and a gm pad head. the hoses 55 bucks for 78-up. get more length from compressor to firewall because the r4 is a shorter compressor and better angle to fit later receiver. gonna try with the a6 first. gonna try my 75 hoses first. adjustable low pressure switch, 7 bucks. if you need the liquid line from condenser to receiver-orifice summit has u-bend #6 line with fittings (vintage air) about 15 to 20 and you will need 2 pieces and a service port. or near 200 for the 2 pre-bent pieces from everybody who has corvette in their company name. so far i am at 210. if i buy lines and compressor will still be under 400. oh yeah. green o-rings...
