Type of AC compressor?

I am in the process of fixing the AC in a 73. can I have some thoughts on keepint the A6 compressor vs changing it to the smaller type?

What is the purpose of the car? A daily driver, weekend warrior, local car shows, or maybe NCRS or Bloomington Gold. A different answer foe each.

If it is presently working well, there is NO [good] reason to change it. You might lighten your car's weight by 10 pounds (or so); but it will cost you several hundred dollar$ to do so AND have a decently functioning A/C system.

A Sanden compressor takes less than half the H.P. to turn it, and it weighs less. But yes you will need the custom mounting brackets and most likely custom hoses. That said. Sanden compressor on my car.
