Default Seat Thickness

Has anyone changed the seats in a C3 to get more room in the drivers position? If so what was the change?

A handful like the Fiero seats maybe those guys can pipe in.
Guessing a good upholstery shop would know the best way and maybe even save your originals

You could put a thinner foam cushion in the seat (or remove some foam from a new cushion). Doing so would require some modification on length of the 'stringer' wires and changes on where the hog rings attach. I've not done it; but I'm sure that it could be done.

yes it can be done there are also different density foams being when I redid my seats a PO had literally stuffed wadding under the soft and flat greenish foam molded cushions the new foam is denser and yes I do sit higher..but it can be trimmed and as mentioned different metal hardware used. I also have the benifit of glass inserts in my moonroof type ttops with not liners which buys me an inch or two but hurts more when the bumps overcome that space... the headliners do pop out of the factory t tops too.
