Default TH350 front Pump

It's one problem after another with this engine swap. I removed the torque converter, unbolted and removed the pump, replaced the o-ring, pump seal, and gasket, since the engine was already out might as well take a small step in preventive measures. Now, when attempting to put the pump back in place, it wont go in all the way. It stops just before the o-ring would go in. Makes a solid thud when it gets to this point but for some reason it just wont go in any further, any suggestions, or is it just that hard to put it back in place? FYI I know nothing about transmissions, and the transmission is still installed in the car, I only removed the engine.

The clutch pack are probably not Seated. Stand the transmission up with the tail in a can to keep the output shaft from traveling forward. Remove the intermediate clutch pack Spin and rock the input shaft until the drums drop down. Reinstall the intermediate clutch pack. Grease up the o-ring, input shaft seal, and drum support seals. The pump should be able to go in now.

Is there a special way to get this band out, I've been trying multiple different times, probably have wasted 4 hours of my life on this one band.

You really need a manual for that transmission. To get that band out you need to remove the valve body and the intermediate servo. When you drop the valve body be careful because there are check ***** that may fall out and you won't know were they go.
