Potentially, have 2 leaks; one in the rear of the carb and one in the front. Not sure about the front however. Wondering if the leak in the back of the carb is running to the front of the carb of course on the bottom side. The leak in the rear of the carb stops after the engine is off. But, the leak in the front continues even with the engine off.
History on the car…it is low mileage(9300) and sat idle in storage for 20 years (+/-). I bought it just back in March of this year and have driven it slightly. It is a pain to start and now wondering if the carb issue is the reason it is a pain to start. I read somewhere that the Holley carbs should be restored every 10 years. I have to believe this carb has never been restored.
Do I need to have the carb restored? I absolutely do not want to replace it(not sure that I could find a correct coded carb anyways). If restoration is in my future does anyone have any referrals to getting this done. I believe I heard of guy up in Dayton, OH that is supposed to be good at this. I have attached a couple videos and if anyone has the time to watch them and give me some advice it would definitely be appreciated. The videos are short.
One last and maybe obvious question, given the leak I should not run the car, correct?
It's leaking gasoline, NO, do not drive the car. I don't need to watch your videos. If it's leaking fuel it needs to be fixed.
Contact Lars on this forum. He is the carburetor god.
Have you tried carefully tightening the 8 fuel bowl screws?
Have you considered buying a Holley rebuild kit and doing it yourself?
You have a 51 year old carburetor that if never done before, needs a rebuild.
Nobody has access to your videos.
I will go against the grain here and suggest you try and find a competent shop in your vicinity if possible if you’re not not comfortable tackling it yourself. I have never had much luck sending carbs out to the gurus in a different location. I’ve come to believe that testing the carb offsite is better than nothing but there is no substitute to setting it up on your car for you conditions, like elevation etc.
Certified by Holley.....
I assume you have an LT-1 if it is the original carb.....they will make it look and perform like new. If this is a 9300 mile car as you say......it deserves to be restored by these guys.
Our member here Lars, does Holley's as well and if this is an unmolested piece I am sure he would jump at the chance to do it. He now has plating available to make like new.

I think I fixed the sharing of videos issue. Many folks have recommended to have the carb restored and that is what I am going to do. I read somewhere that Holley carbs need to be restored or rebuilt every 10 years. Just want it kept as a survivor. Need to figure out if I can remove it myself or seek assistance. Thanks to all that have shared advice!
