Default VIN sequence number on frame

A quick question for the corvette knowledgeable. While most all of us know about the VIN sequence number on top of the drivers side frame near the rear most body mount, is there another location on the frame where it might be found? I cannot read the one on the drivers side frame and would just like to know if there might be another location where I could look. My car is very unoriginal and I'd just like to know if the frame and body even left the factory together.

Thanks,

Paul

About where your left hip would be if you were sitting in the car. You cannot see this stamp with the body on the frame.

Thank you for the info and the great graphic. I will look there if I ever lift the body.

I notice that the picture shows a Dana 44 Rear End so this is an 80-82. I suppose somebody could probably figure out if this is the new factory at bowling green or not. ( nothing in the picture looks new )I know for sure my 1980 has the Serial number right where the worker is stamping it in the picture. I also know my 1969 has it on the upper Frame back at the Body Mount as mentioned above. So at some point a change was made for the location.

The equipment in that photo looks OLD. I'm guessing that pic was taken in St. Louis.
