Anyone converted a non-A/C to A/C??? Need some pointers!
We are going to start the A/C install on my '77 right after Christmas, but wanted to try to find some info out about how to cut the firewall etc.
My boyfriend who is doing this for me has done every kind of install on a car except for A/C. Only thing we have right now to use is my assembly book.
Anyone done this before?
Any important info or ideas greatly appreciated!! :chevy

My 77 is also in NEED of A/C (previous owner removed it) I spoke with a couple of vendors at the Turkey-rod run last month and there are a few systems available....over $1k :cry Keep me posted on your project...

The holes through the rad support (actually one 3 inch slot about 3/4 inches wide) is right below the RH hinge up high and all the way to the right. Stock location for the dryer is in front by the condenser, but may be different on yours. What kind of kit did you get? I would think it would have some general instructions with it. You might want to contact Vintage Aire (in TX, I believe) for advice. Good luck.

This is the b/f. It was not a kit. It was a complete system down to every last bolt out of a '78 . I was just hoping to find some install guides online or more information. I talked a little to the local corvette parts supplier and he said it was a pretty big job to switch from non-a/c to a/c and you had to cut a hole or something in the firewall possibly remove the fender. Hopefully someone has done the swap and can provide insight. She has the heater in it but no a/c. A complete system is ready and waiting to go in before another FL summer. Thanks for the help.
