Fan and cleaning q's
I'm at work and don't have my books to look at but was just wondering if anyone knew how big the fan on a '78 L48 is supposed to be. Would it be allright to put a slightly smaller fan on it? I'm not sure how big mine is but I've been having problems with it rubbing the fan shroud and no matter how I adjust it the problem won't go away. Somone suggested I move the radiator down a little, since it's rubbing the bottom of the shroud. I don't think my motor mount is broken, they're only 1 1/2 years old, but I'll be checking them this weekend. The hottest my engine has ever gotten is just a hair over 200 in the hot days of summer here.
Another question is about cleaning under the car. The front end has a ton of gook all over the steering and suspension, and all over the bottom in general. Is just a regular cleaning product ok to use over all that stuff? I have some fairly heavy duty spray cleaner but I was wondering if anyone had anything in particular they use. Thanks.
