Default Long tube headers sound different?

I was curious as to whether there is much difference if any in the sound of the exhaust if using long tube headers than say the shorty type with no other alterations made.

Non expert opinion here, but considering a tuba sounds different from a trumpet, I'd say they will sound different, all else being equal.

SOUND is more a product of your mufflers than headers, but whatever the sound is now - LT will make them louder.

Long tubes definitely have a different sound to them. They're often a lot deeper sounding than shorty or manifolds.

I've found that long tubes allow you to play with the sound and tone of the exhaust. It basically makes the mufflers sound their most pure sound if that makes sense?

To me that perfect sounding harmony of high performance BBC needs to have high compression so that the starter strains to turn it over teasing the anticipation of it lighting off. Then the perfect overlap in the Camshaft, followed but just enough valve train noise to know something is going on in there, with the carburation just fat enough to heighten senses, and oh that sound of each pulse traveling threw thin wall long tube headers is what brings it all together. I'm more of an engine guy than a muffler guy when it comes to sound. I'll stand by the side of a engine bay and not even bother to go see what the tail pipes are doing. Back when Jet and Drag boats were popular you could inject water into the headers to quiet them down instead of mufflers. They made for some very nice sounding Engines.
