Just installed Dorman 620-634 c5 corvette electric fans they
fit good ..Wired fans in series for low speed and parallel for high speed .. Still have to do a road test but they keep the engine kool sitting in the garage .. Low speed the temp rises then the high speed kicks in and she cools right back down ..
Hard to tell, but how is the a-arm clearance on the driver and pass side? Any massaging needed? I run really thin spal fans and the driver side still touches the a-arm bolt slightly. Might be due to the thickness of the radiator but those look pretty thick. Also, what's the depth measurement on your radiator?
the c5 fans fit good. riht one would hit if centered. you offset it a bit to the left and the left one goes under the a arm. and waaaay easier to remove compared to the oe shroud. i did an ebay set in my 75. only a little less expensive than the dorman new set. i used cheapie amazon fan conrtoller. 25 bucks for everything. both fans run together.
That's about 1/4 the cost of the dual-Spal setup. Thanks for the info! I'll keep that in mind for when I convert my 79.
What accessory kit is that? With clutch fan out of the way, it puts everything down low in front of the engine. You'd have lots of room for an over-the-radiator CAI setup.
I have the same fans hooked to a dual temp sensor 185/195. My BP 383 stays cool in 95+ deg temps in traffic.Slight massaging to clear upper A arms. Very happy

Were you able to install that attached to the rad? or after it was in?
Does it go edge to edge on a C3 rad or did you make filler pieces?
I'm more curious about how much air they move. Are they better than the Spal fans? Cheapy Ebay fans? do they work as good as the Ford/Lincoln fan a number of forum members rave about?

I'll let you know when I get mine in. I just now ordered one from Rockauto
They kept my C5 cool, should work on my C3

They are GM Corvette and Fbody fans. Mine came out of a 2002 Corvette.Doorman makes the replacement

I am using a BMW dual temp sensor 185/195 w/a Tuff Stuff 100 A alt.Cant use stock alt. w/elec. fans Cant hear them when driving
I'm in the process of an engine swap and got a 140amp alt. I'm doing some other things and wanted to alt to keep up. Thanks for the sensor info. Got a part # ?
heck, the relay socket, relay and wires are worth the 25 bucks. the not having to figure out how to wire it is worth more. you can add a second one and decide if you want better temp sensors later. the c5 shroud is a little thinner than the c3 radiator. get a black storage bin lid and screw and trim pieces to fill in the sides. i tried plastic welding and it didn't want to stick to the GM shroud. a little cutting of the edges and one rib inside that comes close to hitting the fins is needed. moves LOTS of air. seals to radiator good. much quieter than orig airplane propeller fan. and as i said before, a lot easier to remove the fan setup and therefore the radiator.
Fuse holder is junk. Those terminals with the rolled around sides to hold the tabs of the fuse won't stand up to fan level currents. Can't tell what the terminals are like on the fan relay socket but it might be OK.
There are lots of small build your own panels on Amazon but they all have those rounded, rolled terminals for the relay sockets. They'd be good to use if you could upgrade the terminals.
A Bosch style relay with Packard style terminals will handle the current of a single fan. Getting GM relays and sockets would be another good choice. GM used stand alone relays on fuel pumps and fans in the 90's before they started putting all the relays into a fuse/relay panel under the hood.

BMW Dual temp sensor #61318361787. Rock Auto has it. Youll need the pig tail connector/ 3 wire also but I cant find that #.Also youll need a metric to sae adaptor to fit your location
I figure you're discussing these fuse-holders? Can you elaborate on what is wrong with them? I'm just wanting to learn because I have a similar fuse holder on my fan control circuit (mine only handles the control circuit amps so not the same thing). What is "rolled" part that you mention?
