Default *** Project update, back to square one!? ***

Hi ya all, just wanted to give you guys a brief overwiev of what's been going on lately. First of all the engine is out again!!! Why? Simply because the guy who's painting the car wants to do A+ job, this means painting the engine compartment to meet the rest of the car. It wasn't actually too bad to take the engine out, took only about 45minutes! So it's been all about getting the car ready to be painted, so I ordered and installed new fiber class bumbers from Eckler's () and now have been test fitting them. The front is a perfect fit, but the rear piece will need some work to be perfect.

So, the car sits now with out bumbers and engine, looks like I'm doing it all backwards now! :D Another thing I've been working on lately is the interior. I was supposed to make all the gauge clusters out of aluminum, BUT it went sour because of the guy who was supposed to make them... Not gonna go into details about it. :nonod:

So I made new cluster to accomodate the Autometer gauges. Friend of mine also made me a VERY COOL handbrake! This piece is one off aluminum showpiece. As for now all the electric are done, except the electric headlight conversion, which Chris should send me anyday now. So now it's time for some pics, let me know what you think.

That's it for now, hope that all of you guys and gals have the best Christmas and all the best for the New Year ahead!

Wow the aluminum looks great in there Jay :yesnod: . I've been toying with the idea of new gauges too, just that they got put on the back burner for the new engine now ;) .

Don't you just hate having to undo something that you thought was finished :cry . I'm sure after it's painted it be worth the extra work  .

Well, orignally, we were going to just do a basic once-over and make a few bucks on the sale. Since then, my brother moved down to FL and he wants to fix it up and drive it. He looked at the rusty frame and couldn't just restore the parts that a reachable with the body on, so we are going to remove the body in the next 2 weekends and go from there. (He's definately a lot like me)

Anyway, there may be a 400hp motor in the 79's future.

Yes, very nice looking. I liked the custom made panels, they
will look great when you finish polishing them. Also, the
handbrake is awesome. Good job. Thanks for sharing the pics.
