Some one educate me please. How can something added to the gas tank 'improve' valve train performance (other than perhaps potential valve seat recession)?

By improving your mindset that something is working better....and if you think it is well then it is!
Millions of those "Tornado" intake spirals were sold to unsuspecting know it all fathers in the 90's and early 2000's.........I once had a guy get shitty with me about the Torando and said "Well how do you know it doesn't work?" And was like: "Well they sold you one, right?".
There are literally millions of products and snakes oils that claim to do this or that.......99.9% of all of it is complete horseshit.....but the marketing plays on the average consumers lack of information on the subject. Now, the news media has taken this very same concept after they buried the Smith/Mundt act in 2013 to do the same to all Americans on every and all topics.......and they are getting away with it.
Please take the time to read and question most anything you see now......
I bet the "100 MPG carburetor!" is still in the back of Popular Mechanics for sale. Lol.

I use this stuff in a road race car. There was and article in a magazine called "Circle Track" several years ago on how to make your own race gas with it. I tried it just to see and it works. I have been making my own race gas for about 20 years with this stuff. On the other hand, I don't think it improves valve train performance. However, I would not use this particular product in the plastic container as they have not used the plastic bottle for a few years now. Not sure it gets better with age. It now comes in a round metal container.
Can't recall what the brand name of the imported TEL (Tetra Ethyl Lead) additive was - it was in a metal container and came with all sorts of health warnings and was eventuially placed on a prohibited list here in the UK.
Many years previously when doing my engineering courses we spent a lot of time on health and safety and dangerous materials and liquids. As I remember TEL (liquid lead) could easily be ingested in to the body by simply spilling it on your hand or other body parts. Potential results of lead poisoning are not very pleasant - discoloration of gums and eventual tooth loss being one of them.......I do remember using TEL additive on my '71 429 SCJ Mustang with it's 11.3 c/r.......worked really well - smoothed things out nicely and would only then hold its idle when stationary in 'drive'.
I was wondering how this product could evaporate through a sealed container. And what is left in there?
probably not safe to use. Thanks
There are many different type of plastics. They are not impermeable to many different type of chemicals. Some being better that others depending upon the chemical ( even water ).
